Special Student Event Monday 2/28
We would like to invite all members of our student community and specifically all students of our marching ensembles to come by the band room right after school on Monday 2/28. We have a surprise we’d like to share with you all first.
Kastner Pre-Festival Concert Monday 2/28
Kastner concert bands and orchestras will be having their pre-festival concert on Monday 2/28 at 7pm at the Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall. CWAIM students who attend will receive extra. Come support our future Golden Eagles!
Clovis West Pre-Festival Concert Tuesday 3/1 at 6:30PM
Join the CW Orchestra & Concert Bands on Tuesday March 1st as we showcase the music that we have been preparing for our upcoming Festival Contests. The show starts at 6:30PM, and the doors to the Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall will be open starting at 6:15PM. Admission is free. Students performing with the Wind Symphony, Chamber Orchestra, & String Orchestra should plan to arrive by 6:10PM. Concert Band students should arrive prior to their sound check at 5:00PM, and Symphonic Band students should arrive prior to their 5:30pm sound check.

SJVCGPR Volunteers Needed for Show #3
Clovis West Instrumental Music is co-hosting the SJVCGPR (San Joaquin Valley Color Guard and Percussion Review) competition on the evening of Friday, March 4th at Buchanan High School. As a co-host we provide volunteers to help the event run smoothly and for this we share in the profits. This is a very profitable fundraiser for our instrumental music program.
This year, we are responsible for staffing the Percussion Gym (where all of the percussion groups perform in competition). Adult and student volunteers are needed. No skills are required. And this is a great way for you to get involved and meet some new people while experiencing another area of our instrumental music program that you might not be familiar with. And every volunteer receives a free entrance pass to check out the performances.
Volunteer opportunities include ticket and merchandise sales, staffing entrance and exit doors, and assisting with spectator traffic flow. Shifts are from 4:30-7:00pm and 6:30-8:45pm. Since the funds raised from hosting these events benefit the entire CW Instrumental Music program, we strongly encourage everyone to participate – band families, orchestra families, jazz band families, and of course, percussion and color guard families.

San Joaquin Valley Jazz Festival
Jazz Students will be performing at the San Joaquin Valley Jazz Festival on Friday 2/25 at Buchanan High School. Students will be bussed over to the school, but will need to be picked up at 5pm at BHS. The Jazz Ensemble will perform at 4pm. Please come hear them if you are available. After their performance they will participate in a short 30 minute clinic, and then will be dismissed.
Nothing Bundt Cakes
Help support our color guard with their Nothing Bundt Cakes fundraiser! Bundtlets are $5.50 a piece, the flavors are chocolate chocolate chip, white chocolate raspberry, red velvet, lemon, confetti, pecan praline, marble, carrot, gluten free chocolate chip cookie, and vanilla. Orders must be placed by March 7th, bundtlets will be delivered on March 15th. If you’d like to place an order see a guard member or contact Jenny at jenniferharrington@cusd.com.
Chaperones Needed for Delta College Festival
On Thursday March 3, the 3 Concert Bands and 2 Orchestras from Clovis West will be traveling to Delta College in Stockton to perform at their Band & Orchestra Festival. We are still looking for parents & guardians to chaperone the trip! Please send an email to cloviswestmusic@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering for this trip.

The itineraries for the March 3rd Delta College Festival trip are available on our website. Each performing group has a unique itinerary, so ensure you are reading the correct one! All students will have the opportunity to purchase meals while on the trip, so plan to bring some spending money and maybe some additional snacks.

Delta College Festival Covid Testing
On Thursday March 3, 2022, all students enrolled in the Clovis West Band & Orchestra classes will be traveling to San Joaquin Delta College to perform at the Delta College Band & Orchestra Festival. Delta College is requiring all participants to submit a verified, negative COVID19 test prior to the event. Alternatively, participants who provide proof of full COVID19 vaccination can opt out of the rapid test by providing details/proof of vaccination. If you have not yet done this, fill out the following form to indicate your preference and, if applicable, upload proof of vaccination. You do not need to do this again if you have already completed it.
