Jazz I and Jazz II will be performing this Tuesday February 5th along with the Kastner Jazz bands starting at 7pm. Members of Jazz I need to be at the PAC for a soundcheck at 5:10 and may leave after the check is done at 5:40. Members of Jazz II should be ready to play at 5:40 and may leave at 6:05 if needed. All members must be back in jazz concert attire by the beginning of the concert at 7pm. Winter Percussion members are excused from that evening’s rehearsal but should communicate that absence to winter staff.

Old Marching Uniforms/Storage Organization

We are selling the old red and black uniforms this spring. They have been in storage the past four years and need to be retrieved, refreshed and itemized. Since they are in the back of the storage container, we need parents and student volunteers to move items in the front and reload the container after we are done. We also need parents to inspect and organize the uniforms for sale. We will meet on Saturday, February 2nd at 2pm. We still need volunteers so click here to sign up:

Symphony Orchestra

There will be rehearsals next week for Symphony Orchestra on Monday, February 4th AND Friday, February 8th from 3-5pm.

Chamber Orchestra

The Chamber Orchestra will be traveling to the Homestead Orchestra Festival at Homestead High School on Thursday, February 7th. We will depart at 10am from Clovis West and return around 10:45pm. Performance time is 3:25pm. (Ensemble members see Charms calendar for itinerary and details). String Orchestra will not be attending this trip.

Majoring in Music, College Information Night

Wednesday, Feb 20th, at 6:30pm we will host a session devoted to information parents and students should know about majoring in music and pursuing a career in music. If you are considering a major in music, after high school, this night is for you. Matt Darling, a faculty member from the Fresno State Department of Music, will be here to provide information and answer questions from a higher education perspective. We will be discussing picking schools, careers, scholarships, auditions and answering any other questions you may have. We will meet in the band room at 6:30pm for a presentation with a Q&A session immediately after. Please come with questions, and we look forward to seeing you Wednesday the 20th. If you are currently planning on majoring in music in college or studying past high school, and you have questions about next year or the process, please see one of the directors NOW for assistance and/or advice prior to this info session.
