2016 Marching Band Workshops Begin Tomorrow!
Marching Band Workshops are designed to give the students an introduction to the band experience at Clovis West. Each rehearsal will be filled with fun activities and engaging lessons. The first workshop is exclusively for freshmen and will give our newest members of the program a chance to familiarize themselves with marching band and meet our student leadership team. All percussionists will also attend Tuesday’s rehearsal from 6:00pm to 8:15pm. All students who plan to be in band or colorguard in the fall should attend every workshop listed below:


• Tuesday, April 19, 2016, 6pm to 8:15pm @ CW Bandroom (All Percussionists Only)
• Tuesday, April 19, 2016, 6:00pm to 9:00pm @ CW Bandroom (Incoming Freshmen/Leadership Team Only)
• Wednesday, April 20, 2016, 3:00pm to 6:00pm @ CW Bandroom
• Thursday, April 21, 2016, 6:00pm to 9:00pm @ CW Bandroom
• Saturday, April 23, 2016, 3:00pm - Audition Results Posted

 
*You must have a current GPA of 2.5 and passing all classes to be an active performing member in Marching Band. Students who do not meet this requirement will automatically be an alternate (guard and winds) or ineligible to participate (percussion).


Leadership Camp
We still have a few spots open. Please turn in an application asap. Click here for the application. If you already turned in an application to attend, you will be notified of your status in the next day or two.


Hanford Jazz Festival - Thursday, April 21st
A tentative itinerary is up in the Charms calendar. We will send out a final itinerary soon.


Rodeo Parade & Practice
The Clovis West & Kastner will be participating in the Rodeo parade. We will tentatively be at the parade from 7am-12pm on Saturday, April 23rd. We will also rehearse the day before during 2nd-4th periods. The students will be excused from class. This includes all band, colorguard, and percussion students (including those who did not do marching band last fall). Make sure to find and wash your black Instrumental Music shirts before Saturday morning. We will be wearing them to the parade.

 
Marching Band Parent Meeting Next Monday
On Monday, April 25th, at 7pm in Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall is a very important meeting to cover all the details of the upcoming marching season. This meeting is mandatory for all marching band students and alternates and at least one parent/guardian. The meeting will begin promptly at 7pm, so please be on time. We will be announcing the show and discussing other very important details of the season including travel and Grand Nationals!


Disneyland
The trip is now closed. If you turned your paperwork by Friday, you are on the trip. Be sure to submit your trip payments on or before Friday, May 6th. Any student submitting trip paperwork will be placed on a waiting list. We will let you know if a spot opens up.

Instrumental Music Jackets
After more than a year, we are again accepting orders for Clovis West Instrumental Music Jackets! Be sure to try on a sample jacket to make sure you get the right size. Sample jackets are located just inside the uniform room (See Mr. Lack before trying on a jacket). We will confirm all order details (size and embroidery) with the student before placing the jacket order. Jacket cost is $100.00. We are currently accepting orders for jackets to be made later this month. Order now in the Charms Store!
